As of June 2013, we have planted or committed nearly half of our 1,000 trees at various locations throughout the project corridor.
Transurban and Fluor are bringing congestion relief and new travel choices to the I-95 corridor. While we will do everything possible to minimize impacts, construction of the project will require the removal of trees and brush from VDOT right-of-way.
As part of our long-term commitment to the communities in which we live, work and operate, we are partnering with the residents of the I-95/395 corridor to return some of the greenery which makes the area so beautiful. To do this, we ask for your help.
Use the online application and recommend places in your community where you would like to see a new tree. Parks, schools or common areas in your neighborhood are good locations.
If your nomination is selected, residents and visitors will enjoy the new trees for years to come.
Applications will be accepted and trees will be awarded throughout the 29-month construction schedule and until we have met our commitment of providing 1,000 trees in 1,000 days. Help us get one step closer to this pledge and submit your application today.
